Quantum Designs IPTV

How to Watch IPTV on iPhone and iPad

Your Quantum Designs IPTV subscription is not tied to the TV. The same login works on an iPhone or iPad, which is handy for the game in the garden, the news in the kitchen or travel. Here is how to set it up on iOS in about five minutes, and how to send it to the TV with AirPlay.

What you need

  • An iPhone or iPad on iOS 14 or newer
  • Your Quantum Designs IPTV server URL, username and password. Not a customer yet? Get a free 24-hour trial.

Option A: IPTV Smarters Player (App Store)

  1. Open the App Store and install IPTV Smarters Player (also listed as Smarters Player Lite).
  2. Open it and choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
  3. Enter any name, then your username, password and the server URL exactly as we sent them. Tap Add User.
  4. Choose Live TV, then a category, then a channel. Turn the phone sideways for full screen.

Option B: GSE Smart IPTV or iPlayTV

Both are well-regarded players on iOS with their own look. In either, choose Add Xtream Codes server (GSE calls it “Xtream-Codes API”) and enter the same three details. iPlayTV also has an Apple TV version, so if you own an Apple TV box this is the app to use there.

Sending it to the TV with AirPlay

Most of these apps support AirPlay. Start a channel, open Control Centre, tap Screen Mirroring and pick your Apple TV or AirPlay-enabled TV. For daily viewing a dedicated device such as a Fire TV Stick is smoother, but AirPlay is perfect for occasional use.

Data use and battery

  • An HD channel uses roughly 1.5 to 3 GB per hour; 4K uses considerably more. On mobile data, pick SD or HD streams rather than 4K.
  • Streaming is demanding on battery. Plug in for long games.
  • Your plan counts simultaneous streams. Watching on the phone while the TV at home is also playing needs a 2-connection plan; otherwise one of the two stops.

Common questions

Do I need to jailbreak? No. Everything here comes from the App Store.

The login keeps failing. Nine times out of ten it is a typo: an extra space at the end of the password, or a capital letter. Copy and paste from our email instead of typing.

Can I use it on my Mac? Yes. IPTV Smarters and GSE both have Mac versions, and any Xtream-compatible desktop player works with the same details.
