Quantum Designs IPTV

How to Watch IPTV on Samsung and LG Smart TVs

Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) smart TVs can play Quantum Designs IPTV without any extra hardware. The app stores on these TVs are more limited than Android, so the setup is a little different, but once done you simply open the app and watch. This guide covers the apps that work on both brands, plus the one-time playlist step some of them need.

What you need

  • A Samsung TV from 2016 or later (Tizen), or an LG TV from 2016 or later (webOS)
  • Your Quantum Designs IPTV server URL, username and password. New customer? Start with the free trial.

Option A: IPTV Smarters (Samsung and LG)

This is the simplest path because you log in directly on the TV.

  1. Open the TV’s app store (Samsung Apps or LG Content Store) and search for IPTV Smarters or Smarters Player Lite. Install and open it.
  2. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
  3. Enter any name, then your username, password and the server URL exactly as we sent them. Select Add User.
  4. Open Live TV and pick a channel. Movies and series are under their own tabs.

Option B: IBO Player or Smart IPTV (playlist upload)

Apps like IBO Player, Smart IPTV (SIPTV) and Net IPTV do not have a login screen. Instead they show a code or MAC address on the TV, and you register your playlist on the app’s website.

  1. Install the app from the TV store and open it. Write down the MAC address (and the device key, if shown) from the screen.
  2. On a phone or computer, go to the app’s activation page (for example iboplayer.com or siptv.app/mylist).
  3. Enter the MAC address and paste your playlist URL. Your M3U link is built from your login details like this: http://YOUR-SERVER/get.php?username=YOUR-USERNAME&password=YOUR-PASSWORD&type=m3u_plus&output=ts — replace the three values with the ones we emailed you.
  4. Save, then restart the app on the TV. The channels load automatically.

Not sure which app suits you? Message us with your TV model and we will point you to the right one. Some of these apps charge a small one-time activation fee that goes to the app developer, not to us.

If the channels will not play

  • Check the date and time on the TV. Streams fail if the TV clock is wrong.
  • Wired is better. Plug the TV into your router with an Ethernet cable if you can.
  • Restart the TV after installing a new app, not just the app.
  • Older TVs (before 2016) may not run the apps at all. A Fire TV Stick in the HDMI port is the cheapest fix and gives you TiviMate too.
